For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your father's family will perish. And who knows but that you have come to royal position for such a time as this? -Esther 4:14Have you ever felt worthless? have you just felt like you had no purpose? Trust me I have... actually I was in one of those funks a couple days ago (actually a week ago) when a friend said something that was really kind of hurtful to me (something I'm still working on getting over) and my dad recommended a book to me called Ten prayers God will always say yes to...
Have you ever thought of the night/day you were conceived?... not born, conceived!...yup gross right? haha
Ten prayers God will always say yes to by Anthony DeStefano definitely changes your opinion on the nasty night your mom and dad "did it".
In this book, DeStefano says that one prayer God will always say yes to is "God lead me to my destiny". He looks at the conception process and says what a miracle it is that we are alive today. In order to be conceived, from a purely biological standpoint, your mother and your father had to meet, on the day that they met, and had to have sex on the day that they had sex at the time that they had sex, right down to the exact second, just to produce the independent individual that is you (I know, gross to think about but just bear with me).
Before you were created your father had to produce about 5million sperm cells who would be competing to get to your mothers one ovum. that's 4,999,999 other potential people. The way biology works, once a sperm is released, it has an uphill battle to get to the ovum, meaning those 5million little suckers are running against the odds to begin with. To add to it, only one sperm cell can penetrate an ovum and when that penetration happens no other sperm has a chance.
That means that 4,999,999 potential people with completely different personalities, temperaments, maybe even hair color, eye color or foot size, had to be sacrificed in order to create you. And just think, if your sperm hadn't gotten there first, you could have been your sister...yikes (there is soooo much more that goes on biologically too that would take too much time to explain without boring you). Destafano then says, because of all these terrible odds, all of us were born a miracle. We were born over achievers... think of that!
And this brings us to the bible verse. in Jeremiah 1:4-5 God says "I knew you before I formed you in your mother’s womb. Before you were born I set you apart". That means that our conception, our entire existence was planned (statistically almost impossible, but with God all things are possible). God had a plan for each one of us. We were placed at this point in history, in the family we're in, amongst the group of people we're among, for a reason... and that is a beautiful thought, just to know that even on the days when I feel worthless, God has a plan for me and for my life and he has placed me in my position, in my situation for such a time as this-- to give me a chance to fulfill my destiny. I don't know about you but that's just very encouraging and it makes me want to work harder and harder and do everything to the best of my ability in order to fulfill God's will for me.
so praying, "God lead me to my destiny" is basically saying, God I accept that you created me, and you created me with a purpose, with a vision for my success. I am letting my life go and putting it in your hands. lead me to what is right for me and I will serve you with all of my strength.
beautiful isn't it?
